Mrs. Bean's Kindergarten

Welcome to my classroom blog. I am a Full Day Kindergarten teacher at Corpus Christi School in Ottawa,Ontario. I hope this classroom blog will be a useful tool for parents to stay up to date with what is cool and happening in kindergarten! Please take some time to explore. I have posted links to some interesting reads about the kindergarten child. You will also find links to various educational online games and reading and math tips that support the learning we are doing in the classroom.

A Look Back at September...

A small inquiry about structures captivated some of the KP2 students. The tower began as a single, tall, skinny structure that kept toppling over.  This caused students to rethink their design. How could they change their structure to make it more stable?  It wasn't long before they added a wider base to add stability to their growing tower!

Patterns are everywhere in FDK!  Way to go, Jeneesa!

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.  Roll the dice to build the Chicka Trees.

We have a lot of young authors and illustrators in FDK.  Sooo many books...sooo exciting! :)

Cyana's book. These are her coconut trees.  Notice the letters of her name climbing up the tree on the right side.

Bingo stampers + names = some pretty cool patterns!

Sorting upper and lower case letters! Good job, Richard!
