Education Week ~ May 5-9

Every year at the beginning of May the Catholic School Board celebrates Catholic education.  During this week, Corpus Christi had many spirit building activities and other class specific activites taking place.

On Monday May 5th, students and staff came to school dressed as their favourite book characters.  Mrs. Bean appeared and the coconut tree from Chicka Chicka Boom Boom while Ms. Landry was the Paper Bag Princess (sadly I have no photos!!).  Pink-a-licious, Skippy Jon Jones, a Jedi and a couple of ballerinas are some of the characters we saw that day!  Way to go Kinders!

On Tuesday, Corpus started the day with the Muffin Breakfast.  It was lovely to spend the morning casually chatting with parents and students while enjoying some yummy snacks.

Tuesday was also an exciting day just for Kindergarten as each class participated in a Scientists in the Schools Program - WHERE EVERYONE CAN BE A SCIENTIST!

Scientist Cindy joined us and introduced us to the kinds of Science we would be exploring. Her BIG message was that everyone and anyone could be a scientist - regardless of how old they were.  She showed a picture of a women who was 104 years old who was still lecturing on Science!

We can be a CHEMIST! Scientist Christina (Brendan's mom) assisted at
  this station. :)

As a chemist students got to wear their own lab coats and goggles.

We got to create our own solutions!

We can be a PHYSICIST!  Scientist Alicia (Carter's mom) assisted at this station. Here students examined how various objects behaved in water.
