Welcome to my classroom blog. I am a Full Day Kindergarten teacher at Corpus Christi School in Ottawa,Ontario. I hope this classroom blog will be a useful tool for parents to stay up to date with what is cool and happening in kindergarten! Please take some time to explore. I have posted links to some interesting reads about the kindergarten child. You will also find links to various educational online games and reading and math tips that support the learning we are doing in the classroom.

Patiently waiting...

In the beginning of May the Kindergarten students recieved a special delivery in the mail....  CATERPILLARS (or larva - as some of us would say ;)!!!!!  We set up the larva in a quiet spot to observe.

While we were waiting for the caterpillars to make their change students spent time observing, writing down what they "see", what they "think" and what they "wonder".

It took about a weeks for the whole process to take place...here they are in all of their glory.  Six Chrysalis's.

Even sideways, Im sure you can see all the learing that is taking place.

It's time to transfer our chrysalis's to the butterfly house!

All set up with plants, sticks, and o.j.

...and now, we wait!
